Bock beer originated in the north German town of Einbeck, but in modern times is produced mostly in Munich. By convention it has an alcohol content of ~6.3-7.2%. It is reddish brown, malty and strong, but not sweet, and the elevated alcohol strength is not apparent; think Dunkel on steroids. (“Pork Chop” was a favorite uncle’s nickname, who greatly enjoyed this beer.)
