Draught @ Taphouse. Pours black with a small mocha head that leaves some sticky trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and fruity estery with roasted malts, caramel, baked pears, dark chocolate, moist soil, sweet liquorice candy, glue and alcohol. Taste is sweet, tiny bitter, malty and fruity estery. Mouthfeel is round, tiny astringent, boozy and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, baked pears, dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, moist soil, sweet liquorice candy, glue, marzipan and alcohol. Way to heavy on the fruity esters and higher alcohols. Poor...

Bottle. A black one, topped by a dense, finger-thick light tan head. Some lacings. Rather weak aroma with licorice, roasted malts and anise seeds. Weak flavor too, with a soft carbonation level. Licorice, roasted malts, coffee notes and some dark chocolate. Full body. Lasting roasted finish. A bit uninteresting this one, but decent anyway. 150522

Bigger Copenhagen bimble with Colin and Reuben. Taphouse. Keg. Opaque dark brown beer, small cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, mild fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, sweet. Spicy bubblegum ester. Dry spice. Light dry finish. Over sweetness appears to be a trademark of this brewery! Messy.
