Too much of a caramel bomb for my liking. What Travlr said below is right - kind of a creme brulee vibe. For me itβs a little too syrupy in consistency though and too sweet. Some roast. Very sweet finish with burnt elements. Dark mahogany pour with ok head and lacing. Tap at Right Proper.

On tap at bottleworks. Malt, malt, malt......Clear mahogany with no head -- is that from the alcohol or a mistake? Chewy yeast and malt lingers on the palate with slight spice and a dry finish. very nice.

Draft at the bottleworks. Pours a clear dark brown with minimal head. Aroma of caramel, roasted nuts and a little toffee. Medium bitter taste with some nice caramel notes. Medium bodied with a thick texture. Soft carbonation and a long finish. Overall, I love this beer...so much that I brought a growler back with me so I can drink it again when I get home.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a dark brownish-orange color with a thin dark beige head that dissipates slowly. Patches of lacing on the glass. Sweet toasted malt and caramel in the nose, along with a touch of almond. Medium-bodied with bready malt, caramel and hops flavors. The finish is moderately sweet with a malty aftertaste. Above average overall.

Pour is a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is malts with coffee and some hops showing up. Flavor is great! Lots of coffee and toffee a with a bit of dark fruit. One of the better dopplebocks i have had, at least made in this country. Hop in the city 2006.
