多くの日本人に愛唱され、大正時代を代表する「宵待草」は、竹久夢二が大正3年に発表した詩です。夢二は明治17（1884）年、瀬戸内市邑久町に生まれ、2009年は生誕125年になります。夢二郷土美術館の協力のもと、125年の記念として宮下酒造株式会社が雄町米を100％使用した、雄町米純米大吟醸の「夢二宵待草」を発売します。
2009年は、花と緑の博覧会、2010年は国民文化祭も開かれ、県外からのお客様も多く来られると思います。岡山ゆかりの「宵待草」と銘打った岡山の地酒で、岡山をアピールしたいと心を込めてつくりました。尚、ラベルのデザインは、九州新幹線、岡山の路面電車「MOMO」「KURO」のデザインを手がけた岡山出身の水戸岡鋭治氏にしていただきました。
