Mixed Fermentation Saison style Ale refermented with red wine must, mixed berries and oranges.
What started as a project with a different trajectory, Sangria Elle serendipitously left turned into the product in the bottle before you. A lengthy soak time on the red grape skins imbued its deep garnet hues and supple tannins. We found that after the skin soak we needed to liven up the fruit tones to round it out and decided to spin it in the sangria direction. We added mixed berries, with a heavy inclusion of boysenberry, and conditioned on fresh orange juice and zest. We hope you love the deep color and the layers of complexity

Sample at the brewpub as part of Ohio Brew Week on 07/18/2025. Pours a clear dark copper-brown color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes steadily to a wispy film. Short strings of lace. Aroma of herbal yeast, vine fruit and malt. Light-bodied with a slightly funky yeast character and flavors of mixed berries and doughy malt. The finish is funky and fruity with a berry and yeast aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
