Umeboshi, our Gose, uses ingredients native to the land of the rising sun to imbue this unique historical German style with Far East flair. It is medium-bodied and pale yellow in color with a salty flavor and aroma from the addition of Japanese Umeboshi plums, accented by subtle sour, fruit, and bread-like notes; and hints of mint from Japanese Shiso leaves used in place of the traditional coriander. Umeboshi; one sip and you’ll agree: it’s worth its salt.

Faint feety nose. Clear golden, thin head. Malt, mild and lagery. Hints of salt, but zero tartness. A nice and strong breadcrust finish. Medium body, easy carbonation. Not a gose, should be reclassed as an American Wheat.

Easy drinking but nothing really going on here. Some light citrus. Pours hazy golden. Light tangy finish but more like a later. Sampled at Arlington street festival.
