Pour is a black with an average tan head. Aroma is plenty of roasted malt and maybe some cocoa power. Flavor is a rich chocolate malt with just enough char and roasted malt to let you know what they were going for. Not heavy or thick so even those not used to this style may find it enjoyable.

Draft at the source during RBSG. From notes. Big stout, malty with chocolate and coffee and something oddly fruity. Still, very good.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours black with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of roasted malts and dark grains with a bit of bitter chocolate. Flavor has lots of roasted malts supported by dark grains and a bit of roasted malts and a touch of bitter chocolate.

On tap @ The Civil Life. Pours a dark brown appearance with a light brown head. Roasty, licorice / anise, slight burnt sugar aroma. Pretty well balanced. Earthy hops. Caramel / burnt toffee flavor with a touch of chocolate. Best here today.
