First brewed to celebrate our 25th anniversary, the beer now known as PUCK, a petite saison of 4% ABV, won a place in our hearts and in our year-round portfolio of beers. Brewed with premium Pils and wheat malts and fermented with the same yeast strain used to make our renowned Saison, Le Merle, Puck is sharp and spritzy with a delicious flowery, spicy dry-hop aroma—the perfect accompaniment to any celebration, big or small.

Bottle: Light yellow pour, rather clear, and topped with a thick white head. The nose is light and airy; dust, floral, light citrus, and a fair amount of yeast. Similar in the taste, with a little less emphasis on the yeast. Light floral, earthy, and faint citrus. Crisp and not overwhelming. I hope this becomes a seasonal release – very sessionable.

On tap at PreFunk Boise Clear light golden Orange . Wispy thin head. Very light and soft maltiness with also fairly light in the classic Saison flavors. Easy and sessionable even for the style

Rated Jan. 2015. Poured up on tap at the Chandler Whole Foods where it exhibits a slightly hazy bright gold body that supports a nice tan head of foam. The aroma comes across rather fruity with apricot and apple and then light notes of yeasty spices and a faint malty sense. The taste starts soft and sweet with a blend of sugary malts, apricot, pear and apple.

10th rater. Making this shit legit. So far it seems like only people in California and Seattle are rating this beer (of course, untappd has almost 500 check ins compared to RB’s 10th, jeez). 12oz bottle poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass. The beer is a perfect;y clear golden color, small bubbles race through the beer. The head is initially very large but settles into a surface covering lacing. Aroma is very herbal and dry, smells like dry malt. Definitely lots of Pils malt coming through. The herbal character is also slightly unsweet fruit with mostly a wildflower herbalness. There seems to be a lemony-dough character coming off the yeast as well. Flavor is a light less bright with more just a straight up herbal yeast character, very clean, very dry but a bit blah for me. I guess I need something a little more in the flavor. Its PIls malt heavy, dry, clean, and minerally. This is all really nice and at the same time I would want a small spin. However, I see myself buying this again in the future.

12 oz bottle pour. Pours a cloudy pale yellow color with a medium foamy head. Belgian yeast and mild spice aroma. This is a potential go-to beer for me for a sessionable beer with really good saison flavor. Drinks a bit tart, and is delicious. I will try to track more of this stuff down in the near future. Loved it.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Neck label subtitle: A weeja-beeba! Pours translucent/hazy gold with a large creamy white head. Light yeast/spice aroma. Lots of head in the way. Med minus body, but it’s substantial enough. Flavor is very light citrus/spice/bread. Trying hard, I think I find earth towards the end. There’s a lot of flavor for this low ABV, and it’s good flavor. Get’s earthier by the quaff.
