First brewed to celebrate our 25th anniversary, the beer now known as PUCK, a petite saison of 4% ABV, won a place in our hearts and in our year-round portfolio of beers. Brewed with premium Pils and wheat malts and fermented with the same yeast strain used to make our renowned Saison, Le Merle, Puck is sharp and spritzy with a delicious flowery, spicy dry-hop aroma—the perfect accompaniment to any celebration, big or small.

Bottle courtesy Omgrich of and shared with the Shape crew.

Draft - Light fruity esters and yeast. Clear gold with a decent white head. Light sweet citrus, light bitterness and a dry finish. Crisp and refreshing, quite nice.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy blond color with compact head. At first there is an aroma of summer and fields and manure; the interest and expectations are increasing; but the mouthfeel is rather weak and dry, the flavor is simple, not to say poor, with some hay, not much more; not much spicy yeast character; correct bitterness. Not a bad beer.
In short, nice aroma, boring flavor and final.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a fairly clear pale blonde with a small white head. Nose is very spicy, yeasty and floral, with Belgian yeast, spiciness, and lots of flowery notes. Flavour is very spicy and sharp, with Belgian yeast in there along with lots of spiciness. Very high carbonation, giving off a spritzy mouthfeel. Decently balanced though. Not bad.

Sampled on draft 3R6P this beer poured a bright golden color with a medium sized foamy white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was dust, pepper, cracker and don’t citrus. The flavor was dryish, citric, yeasty, dusty and had notes of pepper, bread and cracker. Medium length finish. Medium body. Disappointing.

Bottle from Brewers Haven. Spicy, musty aroma on top of a clear pale golden body. Small fluffy head. Taste brings in some yeast, grass, hay. Finish is very abrupt, but overall extremely tasty.

Hazy yellow color with a lacing head. Aroma has yeast and vegetables. Flavor is dry, more yeast, and light spice. This is better than many American examples. Some earthy character at the end of each sip. Dry finish.

Apple and funk nose, tomato soup overtones. Clear golden, thin head. Dry lemon zest, abrupt surge of malt at midpalate, returns to lemon zest. Light bosy, spritzy

Bottle at Cock & Bowl in VA. Poured a clear golden color with a slight haze, medium sized, quickly dissipating white head. Aroma was light sweetness, touch of light funk. Touch thin, but pretty drinkable for a 4% beer. Refreshing.

Draft. Crystal clear golden color, small white head. Aroma of light straw. Taste is similar. I get it, if this is a table beer. It’s an unexciting saison.
