First brewed to celebrate our 25th anniversary, the beer now known as PUCK, a petite saison of 4% ABV, won a place in our hearts and in our year-round portfolio of beers. Brewed with premium Pils and wheat malts and fermented with the same yeast strain used to make our renowned Saison, Le Merle, Puck is sharp and spritzy with a delicious flowery, spicy dry-hop aroma—the perfect accompaniment to any celebration, big or small.

Pour is a clear orange-gold with a large white head. Aroma is yeast driven with a bit of cracker malt in there. Flavor is a bit tar with some more pils like malt. I know this is a small beer at only 4% but this may be a bit to small. Not much of a yeasty peppery spice that I like in saisons. Still not totally bad, has more of a Belgian lager flavor to it. Hey I think I just came up with a new style.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear gold with light head. Aromas of dried bananas, candied fruit, and grass. Flavors of cereal, wheat, and dried malt. Tastes more like a big lager to me.

Bottle at Komachi. Clear, deep gold, with a tall, fine head. Spicy nose, malty, bread, orange, ginger, grass. Lemony, wood malt flavor, spicy yeast. Meh. An ok American saison.

Bottle. Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Bright gold. Thin, lively, lasting, white head. Fresh baked, bready yeastiness. Privet leaf. Bubblegum ester. Taste is crisp dry. A little hop bite. Tad of tart. Frothy, massaging palate. Finishes short, and dry. Crisp as you like. Light and refreshing.

Draught at Deep Ellum, 6/13/15
Mostly clear, light golden beer has a small, neatly retained white head.
Stiff, rather stale-like grainy/borderline metallic nose has some bizarre funk to it as well (basement, mold, mildew, that sort of thing). Spicy hops provide a bit of acidity as light bubble gum and pineapple esters emerge....
Not quite as odd of a flavor, but it’s got a much too "hard" texture for such a small beer, with no comforting maltiness and no snappy hops. Kind of languid, ending with a earthy/semi-metallic dryness to it that is off-putting. Not enthused about this one.

Light amber colour. Mellow sweetish character with light fruitiness from hop, a touch of dusty yeast and a fair bit of malt sweetness. Ok but a bit dull
