Bottle. Gold with an inch of white head. Aroma of oranges, lemon blossoms, pepper, crackery dough, some apricot. Light bodied, high carbonation. There’s no softness about it so the carbonation feels a bit excessive. Some doughy and stone fruit sweetness but it’s pretty dry. Moderate bitterness with floral and peppery notes. Refreshing.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 6/8/2015. Pours lightly hazy bright golden yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of bright lemon zest, grapefruit, peach, pear, apple, pepper, wheat, cracker, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/earthy hops and pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of bright lemon zest, grapefruit, peach, pear, apple, pepper, wheat, cracker, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of earthy yeast spiciness and slight tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, grapefruit, peach, pear, apple, pepper, wheat, cracker, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; with a great crisp malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness on the finish with no watery feeling flavors. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with no warming present after the finish as expected of 4%. Overall this is a very nice table saison style. All around good balance, complexity, and robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

12oz bottle. I’m all about the Grisette trend, much preferring them to bigger US Saisons. Sharpish lemon-lime tones upfront, but a very easy going malt backdrop evens it out. Quite yeast forward, but refined, works well. Drinks pretty full for the 4%, you could tell me it was 6% and I wouldn’t second guess it. A really solid, well made beer.

12 oz can into a tulip. Bottled on12/12/2014 so has 7 months on it but I wouldn’t think that matter sin a saison. A: A gentle pour still yields enough snow white head to bulge over the edge of my tulip. Deep burnished gold with slow but busy bubbles rising Head retained for several minutes and left thick lacing. S: Malty and slightly funky. Not much else but a bit vinous. T: Dry, grainy and a little yeasty. Winey and tart on the back end. Pretty clean tasting. Much like a very good Kolsch I think. Not very complex but quite good. M: Light bodied and crisp which is a bit strange for the style but It’s right down my alley and I must say I like it. O: Bought these for $4/4 pack on account of its age and it was a STEAL. If I could find 4% ABV saisons regularly I would drink them more. Alas, these are usually too expensive and others of the style are stronger than I prefer. I plan to stock up on a few of these while I can as I really enjoy this.

Willrunforbeer supplied this 12 oz. bottle. Mostly clear gold with head. Aroma shows me a standard saison, hay or straw, grain and Pilsner like malt. Where is the dry hopping??

The flavor is pretty standard, spicy yeast, weak fleeting fruit. The palate and body is on the thin side but hell, it’s only 4 percent. Still does not really excite me. Ok as a palate cleaner.
