First brewed to celebrate our 25th anniversary, the beer now known as PUCK, a petite saison of 4% ABV, won a place in our hearts and in our year-round portfolio of beers. Brewed with premium Pils and wheat malts and fermented with the same yeast strain used to make our renowned Saison, Le Merle, Puck is sharp and spritzy with a delicious flowery, spicy dry-hop aroma—the perfect accompaniment to any celebration, big or small.

Smart yeast aroma. Yes, a little sharp on the ale thang but it does have some bright co2. Lively and quite satisfying. Some of these saisies are pretty good compared to their ill mannered brothers. Yes, just a hint of possible tartness that gently shines thru. Bitterness does build but its not the backbone of this sizzly brew.

From a 355ml bottle on 6/10/2015. Pours a clear light golden with a biggish white head. Has a light zesty, spicy aroma. Flavour wise, there’s some sour lemon and more spice, finished off by a mild bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. A decent light saison but unlikely to blow your hair back.

355ml bottle from Bottle Bank, Falmouth. Pours hazy blonde with white head. Mild saison yeast aroma. Fluffy mouthfeel, easy-going saison taste. Not a lot going on, but I guess that’s the point.

Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a clear golden yellow with a modest white head. Lemon zest, herbal notes, some earth, light farmhouse yeast and pepper on the nose. Taste is fairly simple, but a dry, dusty character from the yeast stands tall on the finish. Not sweet, very dry and mildly bitter. Enjoyable, especially for the 4% abv. --- Beer merged from original tick of Puck, The Beer on 29 Aug 2015 at 11:15 - Score: 6
