A strong, rich and malty German lager originally brewed in the 1600s by monks at the Paulaner brewery in Munich. Deep copper with intense maltiness, toasty notes and subtle chocolate.

Pour is a mahogany with a large white head. Aroma is brown sugar with a bit of dark cherry. Flavor is more of the brown sugar with some toasted wheat bread in the back round. Probably not the best doppelbock I've ever had but this was pretty good. Way more on the sweet side.
