Imperial Stout with Palo Santo wood.
A collaboration with our good friends at Wandering Monsters Brewing. Wood Golem is a full-bodied imperial stout, conditioned on Palo Santo wood. This South American wood is often used as incense, because of its natural aromas of mint, licorice, and cinnamon; it’s hard to describe, but incredibly enticing! We conditioned this imperial stout on Palo Santo wood for only a few days to impart these flavors into the beer.

Sample at the brewpub as part of Ohio Brew Week on 07/18/2025, during the 10th Anniversary celebration. Brown-black pour with a medium beige head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Small patches of lace. Aroma of malt, oak and chocolate. Medium body with a charred oak and malt character, and notes of bittersweet chocolate and coffee. The finish is roasty with a burnt malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
