India Pale Ale is not a beer for "cowards". Ιt is a beer for those that enjoy "big" beers with intense hoppiness and even more intense taste. The hops' aromas in this beer spread their good vibes unstoppably ! Ιt's no wonder , that among all beer styles, IPA is one of the most popular beers on earth. Solo IPA takes its name from the addictive hoppiness that characterizes an India pale ale. Psaki in the cretan dialect means something extremely bitter.

A bit to much caramel buttery. Otherwise a fine ale.
Hazy orange golden color with thick nice white head. Good lacing. Looks really nice. Good intensity in the aroma. Medium + body and a fine smooth carbonation. A bit sweet and an ok bitterness. Grapefruit hoppy, pine, butter and a bit overripe tropical fruity flavor.

Bottle, courtesy of rouhlas during EuroLocalSwap 2/2016. Lots of pine needles and resin throughout, some juniper. Strong and bitter indeed, also a bit dirty taste (but not looks), stays a needle forest from beginning to end. Gotta admit, this is not my cup of tea. Or glass of beer.

Dumpf grasiger Beginn, weich herb, spritzig. Weithin eher dumpf die Hopfengabe überzeugt, könnte aber spritziger sein. Runder Nachhall, bitterer Hintergrund. 12/8/9/10//10

Bottle. A hazy, orange-golden beer topped by a dense, white head leaving lacing. The aroma started escaping the bottle immediately after popping the cap, with pine cones and citrus zest. It’s strengthened when poured into the glass, where some bready malts show up and a grassy and light peachy scent is present too. It’s full-bodied and semi-dry on the palate, with a nice carbonation level. Pine cones, resin and orange zest, some grapefruit and grass and a light bready maltyness with some sweetness. Rather dry finish though, the bitterness is palate cleansing and leaves a lot of pine cones and citrus zest in the very end. Some bread too. A very fine IPA indeed, although with a tad more sweetness than I’ve grown to appreciate. A fine brew I’d recommend to look for if you’re in Greece in the near future. 160312
