This was poured into an English pint glass.
Batch #038, 10/01/2015.
The appearance was a semi-dark amber to red color with a light transparency about it and a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than about forty seconds. Lacing was fairly clingy and somewhat thick.
The smell started off with a sweet breadiness running into a slight caramel maltiness and allowing some roasty nuts to blend nicely.
The taste was moderately sweet with a light earthy to semi-herbal quality rolling about. Breadiness is dry and semi-sweet in the aftertaste and leading into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation runs light allowing the earthy/herbal quality to take effect and smooth and dry things out a bit on my tongue.
Overall, its a good Amber that I could have again. I’d say it could probably go well with or in beef stew.
