Batch #048. 11/12/2015.
Treated as an American Stout, this was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a black color with a tan foamy level slim quarter finger-ed head. As the head dissipated, a delicate film of lace stuck to the glass.
The smell took rich sweet milk chocolate, dark chocolate, some roasted coffee beans and nuts and blended with a layer of sweet grain.
The taste was a stellar blend between the roast, the sweet and the bitter between the chocolate, coffee, flaked oats and nuts. Dryly, the aftertaste wraps up the flavors and gives way to a sly little finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a sweet sessionable dry and creamy feel sticking yet also sliding on my tongue in a smooth sort of way.
Overall, as an American Stout, this one works. I’m not used to Frost making a non-hoppy beer as I’m glad I got to add it on here and be its first reviewer. Looking forward to grabbing this one again this winter.
