This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a slim finger’s worth of off white/creamy colored head. Light messy lacing glosses around the side of the glass.
The smell not only has the hazelnut, but some coffee, caramel and toffee rounding out the edges of it all. Subtle roast slides in to balance.
The taste was mainly sweet through the hazelnut, caramel and toffee. Coffee escapes more towards the background. There’s a light lingering sweet toffee and caramel in the aftertaste and that leads into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation runs really under in this one, so it gets extremely smooth and creamy with a slight stickiness all around.
Overall, hazelnut, well, its there, I didn’t mind it so much for me. Its good for the most part, it’s just got some other sweet aspects going on.
