This was poured into a pint glass on tap at the brewpub.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a thin white layer of foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace.
The smell started off with sweet orange pulp leading into a semi-sweet dry sticky resin to bitter spruce. Somewhat reminds me of Christmas tree.
The taste was mainly sprucy / resin sweet with a nice juicy sweet background of the hops bursting into dry sweet malts. A light sweet sticky citrus runs into the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed good for the style and for me. Semi-smooth transition all around.
Overall, APA, sure fits and with the spruce, hell yeah, perfect for the season!
