Sample glass at the brewery.
The appearance was a dark brown color with a thin white little head that dissipated quickly. Lacing was few and far between (sample glass, not worried).
The smell took in a huge amount of dark and milk chocolate malts. Light caramel and toffee invade delicately underneath. Light smoke.
The taste was mainly malty sweet with a light smoke and light peat underneath. Smooth slightly peaty to smoky malty aftertaste runs into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable feel to it. Carbonation feels light, but good.
Overall, what a nice beer, doppelbock, maybe could use a bit more \"beef\" in the body. Still, I’d have again.
