Sample glass at the brewery.
The appearance was a glossy burnt orange to almost brown color with a slim almost finger’s worth of white foamy lacing after the head dissipated.
The smell had all of the normal big smoky to peaty malts up front with subtle toffee and an even lighter caramel backbone.
The taste was mainly sweet through the previously mentioned flavors. Slight smokey aftertaste. Semi-dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionable feel about it. Carbonation felt nice.
Overall, I’d say this was a really nice scotch ale that I would have again.
