On tap at the brewpub.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a bartender’s pour of a slim white head that quickly dissipated. Lacing, what lacing, eh, not there.
The smell had all of the normal qualities of an American porter - roasty to sweet cocoa to coffee qualities rolling into some light fruity components.
The taste was basically the same - roasty to bitter to sweet. Light wet cocoa-ish aftertaste with a quick finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation runs good, somewhat light.
Overall, pretty good American styled porter, and I could have again.
