Poured into a pint glass at the brewpub, the appearance was a brown clear color, sly transparency, and a quickly dissipating head. No lace.
The aroma had a fair amount of nutty malts, almost almond character. Sly earthiness, some wood.
The flavor was basically the same with a sly woody to nutty sweet balanced aftertaste leading into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a super nice sessionably smooth feel rolling about it. Low carbonation.
Overall, nice Scottish ale. Could have again with a bacon cheeseburger nicely.
