Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a thick black color with a one finger creamy eggshell white to off white foamy head. Dissipates nicely leaving some mild messy lacing.
The aroma starts off with sharp sweet roasty chocolate malts. Subtle vanilla glides in underneath. Some caramel and woody notes also present themselves as it warms.
The flavor leans to the chocolate and vanilla, sweet, yet conjuring up the warming roastiness to balance. Sly roasty to sweet chocolate and vanilla aftertaste. Quick sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation seems fairly easy going and low.
Overall, pretty good chocolate porter that I could have again.
