Poured into a snifter and treated as an imperial porter, yes, I know - not a true style, but hey here the rest.
The appearance has a dark brown color with a rocky off white foamy head that quickly dissipated. Mild messy lacing.
The aroma takes on some sweet dry woodiness rolling over some roasty coffee to cocoa beans. Light vanilla with a slight boozy warmth throughout.
The flavor leans dry roasty sweet nutty some nuttiness and once again the woodiness to it. Aftertaste moves smoothly through the sweet cocoa and coffee bean. Dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sipping to sessionable feel to it. Low carbonation mildly hits yet keeps some abrasiveness on my tongue.
Overall, though I don’t know the ABV to it, I believe it sits fairly high, good for what it is, and possibly would like again as a night cap.
