Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a dark ruddy red to brown color with a thin layer of white foamy head that dissipates at a nice pace. Moderate sticky messy lace.
The aroma starts off with a thick robust roasty coffee to ash, some char, low amount of meatiness. Seems tired and doesn’t want to meld together.
The flavor leans to a dry sweet coffee bean and rugged ashiness. Some earthiness. Sly sweet to ashy aftertaste with the same sort of finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Low carbonation. Ashiness really hits dryly on my tongue.
Overall, smoked porter? Hmmmmm....most likely, but not a top notch one. Definitely not a rauchbier. Still, I might come back to, maybe.
