Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a thin white to off white foamy head that dissipated at a nice level pace. Sly messy lacing here and there.
The aroma starts off with some roasty to sweet cocoa bean, sweet oats, light cake, and then some coffee bean.
The flavor leans roasty sweet with the oats and cake seeming to touch each other nicely to blend. Light oaty to cake aftertaste with the same sort of finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Mild carbonation, still feels good.
Overall, alright oatmeal stout, that cake-like flavor and feel is a bit different but doesn’t distract too much. Passable.
