Treated as a pumpkin ale, this was poured into a becher pint glass. The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a thin white dissipating foamy head. Barely any lace.
The aroma starts off with a pumpkin sweetness roaming into some subtle crisp sweet wheatiness. Light vanilla with some bubblegum and then some grassy tones. Light ginger to allspice.
The flavor leans to the sweet side with a fair grassy underneath. Dry woodiness rolls over the pumpkin taste and then lingers on into the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. Ginger to allspice harshness feels good.
Overall, different for a pumpkin ale. But I think Voodoo was trying to amp this up a bit differently than just a regular pumpkin ale. I think I could come back to this.
