Thanks Doug.
Growlette share.
Mine was poured into a nonic.
The appearance was a semi-dark brown color just a tad lighter in color than their sweet stout. Head falls into oblivion immediately and barely leaves any lace.
The aroma tried to have some sweet to roasty nuts. Rugged malty smooth milk chocolate. Burnt toast, rugged grains.
The flavor, pretty much copies the aroma, with a rugged grainy to malty kick on the tastebuds. Aftertaste is nutty with the grains and chocolate. Rugged grainy finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Mild carbonation. Graininess seems to be formidable against my tongue. Quite a ruggedness.
Overall, quite a different brown ale. Reminds of Long Trail’s Unearthed with that ruggedness of the grains hitting all around, but this one seems to take the cake. Kinda tough to totally take down, but we did it. Unsure if we would have again unless this recipe was re-worked.
