Poured into a pilsener glass, the appearance was a black color with a two finger off white foamy head. Mild messy semi-foamy lace.
The aroma had a hefty amount of thick sweet milk chocolate, caramel malts and some red cherries. Light roast underneath.
The flavor leans to the sweet side with the chocolate and cherries. Roast seemed barely there. Rich chocolatey sweet aftertaste and in the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a smooth sessionably texture flowing over my tongue. Moderate carbonation.
Overall, not a schwarzbier, but perhaps a porter with a lager yeast? Yes, Iβll leave that question mark there, just a tad confused though a very good beer just as it is.
