Poured into a snifter, the appearance was a nice looking black color. It poured like motor oil. A finger’s worth of off-white to almost tan sort of head slowly escaping nicely to form some concave lace sliding on into the beer.
The aroma had a superb amount of thick rugged milk chocolate flowing into sweet black strap molasses. Cocoa powder, dark chocolate nibs, and then roasty coffee beans.
The flavor blended extremely well between the roast to the sweet melding the molasses to the chocolate, milky with a cherished semi-spiced little bit of a sticky bite rolling on into the aftertaste and leaving a little bit of a sticky sweet sort of finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a good sipping quality about it. Moderate carbonation feels good for the most part. Acceptable stickiness.
Overall, a very well done imperial stout by Foley Brothers.
