7.2/10 Appearance 8 Aroma 7 Flavor 7 Texture 8 Overall 7
Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a sly ruddy dark burnt orange almost brown color with a thin white foamy head that dissipated within a sly minute. Some stringy lace.
The aroma starts off with a some ash/sweet smoke, and then caramel/toffee malts. Some herbal qualities. And then some peat, which that is super subtle.
The flavor wants to blend some of that sweet ashy/smoke-like/peatiness. Sly to quick malty running aftertaste flowing into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Low carbonation with a smooth herbal sort of feel, low key ebb and flow on my tongue.
Overall, good Scottish ale that I would have again.
