Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a semi-dark black color with some brown hues strewn about. A finger’s worth of white foamy head started and dissipated ever so slowly leaving a messy lace all about.
The aroma had deep luscious sweet milk chocolate flowing over subtle tones of roasted coffee beans. A slight lactose seems to come out as it warms.
The flavor leans to the sweet side through the milk chocolate. Sticky chocolatey tones flow into the aftertaste and ride on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Mild carbonation with an extremely smooth silky feel over my tongue.
Overall, I know there’s such things as sweet stouts, but is there such a thing as a \"sweet porter?\" I believe that’s what Cape Cod did here. Maybe again for me.
