Bottled 01/27/17.
This was poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a rugged hazy burnt pale dark yellow color, almost looks like bread crust. Finger’s worth of white foamy head that gently dies off leaving a film of white glossy lace.
The aroma had some white pepper flowing over some biscuity/bready malts and then dried floral bitterness helps to blend nicely. Light pineapple as it warms.
The flavor blends the malts to the hops. Crisp balanced citrus bitter hops to a light resin and then the malty biscuits/bread slightly comes in. White pepper seems to be quite vacant here. Pineapple comes back with some lemon pulp sweetness. Aftertaste was sticky pineapple to biscuity/breadiness. Quick sticky bitter hoppy finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation feels good push ing the stickiness out and rounding out the feel with that white pepper.
Overall, quite different as a blonde ale. But quite enjoyable. Super glad Idletyme brewed a good beer for military vets. Just hope more people rate to style so that they can see what a great beer this is.
