Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a ruddy burnt orange almost red color with a finger’s worth of a white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Subtle wisps of lace.
The aroma had some crisp nutty sweet malts. Nice balancing caramel and toffee qualities rolling all about. Subtle floral/grassy hops.
The flavor leaned towards a gentle malty sweet toffee, caramel and nutty blend. Aftertaste is the same with a crisp nutty finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice smooth sessionable feel rolling over my tongue. Moderate carbonation.
Overall, good Irish red ale that I could come back to.
