Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Fairly light speckled lace.
The aroma started off with the roasted malts, some coffee to chocolate intertwining with a nice robust to rugged dryness. A slight spiciness from some rye enters in for a nice blend.
The flavor takes the previously mentioned aromas to blend with a slight toastiness. Nice blend all around and smoothly leads into the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a great sessionability about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, really nice crushable porter well worthy to bring in Spring. Definitely would have again.
