Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a ruddy dark orange with some fairly light brown notes. Finger’s worth of white foamy head quickly dies off leaving some light lace.
The aroma had a juniper fresh/spruciness up front. Cedar woodiness, and sweet grains. Light rye - somewhat spicy, sweet oats.
The flavor had that fresh sweet juniper/spruciness to it. Woodiness helps to amplify the rye and impart a touch more of the spice. All wraps together to follow through in the aftertaste and ride on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Low carbonation. Despite the woodiness, it’s a dry smoothness.
Overall, well, I liked it for me, but I don’t know sahtis well enough to say if this fit or not.
