Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a semi-dark amber color with a thin white foamy cap. Messy clingy white lace.
The aroma had a butterscotch to caramel to toffee malty sweetness up front with a delicate grassy hop bitterness underneath.
The flavor leans to the sweet malty side. Hop bitterness is once again, far underneath. Super malty aftertaste. Quick malty dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine.
Overall, adequate amber ale with a respectable sort of cleanliness all around. I don’t want to knock this too much. But I often find other amber ales much more flavor worthy.
