Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a bright orange color with a one finger foamy white head. Subdued glossy semi-foamy lace in a ring around the glass.
The aroma had some orange and grapefruit rind, fairly bitter with some honeydew, and then some pine and subtle crisp spice, somewhat earthy. Sly malt backbone.
The flavor yields to some tropical sweetness initially and then opens up into the bitter rind. Earthy spice lays in the background a little bit more. Well blended aftertaste. Quick semi-dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat between a light and medium body with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation. AIPA bitterness hits like juice. ABV felt appropriate as the brewer suggests.
Overall, nicely done AIPA that I would love to have again.
