Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass at the brewpub.
The appearance was a glossy semi-burnt orange color with just a rim of a white foamy head that dissipated fairly quick.
The aroma, obviously, had the pumpkin up front. Subtle allspice and some ginger sit further back. Slight caramel/toffee malts cleanly move in.
The flavor blends the sweet pumpkin base to the caramel/toffee malts. Spices, still, sit in the background. Light pumpkin aftertaste. No finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body, almost medium, and definitely makes a good session. ABV felt right as the brewer intended.
Overall, would make a nice light pumpkin ale to have again preferably in early to mid Autumn. They asked me if I wanted it rimmed with cinnamon, but I just looked at them like they were from another planet. I didn’t want to be rude, but figured it would be okay to say it here: just the beer please, that’s all I ask for.
