Poured into an English pint glass, the appearance was a soft burnt orange color with a nice looking finger’s worth of white foamy head. Strings of lace slide into the beer.
The aroma had a mild biscuit to caramel/toffee malty flow to earthy/grassy hops. Slight touch of floral quality weaves it’s way in underneath.
The flavor mildly arranges itself around the biscuit to caramel/toffee malts with earthy/grassy hops. Hops really don’t show much bitterness, just seems to be there for balance. Light smooth malty aftertaste with a clean malty, semi-floral finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Mild carbonation. ABV felt as projected as the brewer said.
Overall, English Bitter, sure smells, tastes and feels like one and a good one at that.
