Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a black color with a thin white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Some light lacing here and there.
The aroma had a decent blend of roasted malts, roasted nuts, some piney hops, some grassiness and then some citrusy hops backing it all up.
The flavor seemed to blend fairly well between the roast, the bitterness and sweet of all of the previously mentioned aromas. Sly roasty/bitter aftertaste. Quick semi-dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionable to sipping quality about it. Fair carbonation. ABV felt pretty spot on as determined by the brewer.
Overall, that’s a pretty nice black IPA worthy of coming back to.
