Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a semi-burnt orange color with a cap of a white foamy head that dissipated into nothing fairly quick. No lace.
The aroma had some spicy and sweet rye touching upon some citrusy/floral and herbal notes. Decent caramel malt base for balance.
The flavor keeps the rye, sweet and spicy up front with some bitterness from the citrusy/floral hops. Malts smooth things out again to flow into the aftertaste and ride on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. ABV felt appropriate. Spiciness seems contained enough for the malts to alleviate most of the harshness along my tongue.
Overall, nicely balanced rye beer that imparts some nice complex qualities moving all along my tastebuds.
