Growler from Craig. Thanks man!
Poured into an English pint glass, the appearance was a soft burnt orange to copper color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a good pace. Sliding stringy lace.
The aroma had a some earthy malt playing with some basement/earthy/grassy hops. Then a slight floral/herbal underscore with a touch of semi-sweet breadiness.
The flavor brings all of the previously mentioned aromas together in a good way, definitely a slight good buttery backbone, but not like diacetyl. Nice smooth malty to hoppy aftertaste flowing into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. ABV felt appropriate. Light smooth features rolling along my tongue.
Overall, we’re starting off on the right foot 1940’s as this is a pretty nice English pale ale or an English styled IPA.
