The appearance was a ruddy burnt orange almost copper color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Some light lace.
The aroma had some pumpkin sweetness with just a tickle of some spices ie (ginger/allspice/nutmeg sort of thing going on). Some cereal grainy sweetness underneath.
The flavor tried to blend the pumpkin sweetness to the spices but mainly stays separated. Aftertaste is a bit weird as there seems to be a slight herbal quality wanting to blend in with the pumpkin. I didn’t mind it, but it was quite different. Finish was fairly quick with it’s pumpkin sweetness.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate as the brewer projected. Malts smooth the spice harshness out as expected.
Overall, pretty good pumpkin ale for the most part, just that aftertaste, not so sure.
