Reviewed from notes.
On tap at the brewpub.
The appearance was a mostly dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a fair pace. Light lace.
The aroma had some semi-sweet milk and dark chocolate nibs. Light biscuits, subtle cereal tones and then some vanilla. Some roastiness.
The flavor leans sweet with a touch of earthiness ever so slightly underneath. Slightly melds all together to slide into the aftertaste, which seems barely there. Quick finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a good sipping quality about it. Moderate boozy heat to this one, somewhat felt. ABV did feel as projected by the brewer.
Overall, pretty good imperial porter, wouldn’t mind a little more roast in the flavor but other than that, I would come back to this.
