Reviewed from notes.
On tap at the brewpub.
The appearance was a semi-murky brown with a film of a small white foamy head. Subtle lace.
The aroma had some boozy Belgian sugary sweetness, light bananas, and some breadiness. Then some cereal/herbal malts, nuts (somewhat like pecans), ends with some dark fruits.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side with a mostly boozy aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. Sessionable? Well, it’s a bit all over to be honest as the booziness seems to not coincide with it’s feel along my tongue. ABV definitely feels as projected, damn, oh boy.
Overall, not really sure about this one. I can see a bunch of other English Strong ales that are way better.
