5.8/10 โ€” Appearance 8 Aroma 5 Flavor 5 Texture 8 Overall 5
Reviewed from notes.
On tap at the brewpub.
The appearance was a semi-murky brown with a film of a small white foamy head. Subtle lace.
The aroma had some boozy Belgian sugary sweetness, light bananas, and some breadiness. Then some cereal/herbal malts, nuts (somewhat like pecans), ends with some dark fruits.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side with a mostly boozy aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. Sessionable? Well, itโ€™s a bit all over to be honest as the booziness seems to not coincide with itโ€™s feel along my tongue. ABV definitely feels as projected, damn, oh boy.
Overall, not really sure about this one. I can see a bunch of other English Strong ales that are way better.
