This beer is packed full of flavor, but is not so strong as to make it a "sipping beer". For those accustomed to full-flavored beers, it is almost deceptively easy to drink. Just because this beer has a lot of hoppiness does not mean it is only for the hopheads. There is a lot of flavor for every type of palate.

Taster at Max's. Pours a fairly clear, amber color, with a fair, off-white head. The nose is oak, marigold, butterscotch, mild toast, and light juniper. Sweet and slick, with a mild, herbal bitterness. Medium body, sticky, and acerbic. Mellow and interesting.

Draft and cask at Brewer’s Alley. Clear golden brown with off-white head. Aromas of caramel, citrus, malt, biscuit. Tastes of big malt, biscuit. Medium body with a dry finish. Cask was a bit too thin for my liking.

Cask and draft at the source. Clear amber color, thick beige head with good retention. Nice floral herbal aroma. Taste is earthy and bitter. Tasty.

Cask at brewpub. Apparently this was brewed 10 months ago, so this is the 10 month edition of this brew. Poured a cloudy yellow/orange color with an off-white head. Aroma was sweet malty notes, touch of hop character. Aroma was hop, sweet malts, touch of booze. Pretty good.
