Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a stiff rugged dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of level off white foamy head that dissipated at a good pace leaving some moderate stringy lace.
The aroma consisted of some roasty malts, coffee beans, coffee grounds, some dark chocolate and some sweet oats/graininess.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side initially and then followed through on it’s ability to blend nicely between the roast and sweet. Not much of an aftertaste, but somewhat roasty. Finish seemed more blended between the roast and sweet.
The feel was medium bodied with a good sessionable to sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt right on spot. Nice smoothness helps the roasty grind escape properly for a great balanced feel on my tongue.
Overall, very nicely done oatmeal stout well worthy of having again.
