The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Sliding messy lace.
The aroma had some dark roasted malts, light coffee tones, some roasted almonds, dried leaves and ended with a little bit of earthy bitterness.
The flavor was mostly roasty. Light bitterness from some of the dark chocolate portions came out. Nicely blended aftertaste of the same strolling into the finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a slight sessionability about it. Good carbonation with the ABV feeling just as the brewer projected.
Overall, pretty nice as a stout, but the coffee keeps a bit of a lower presence.
